The future devices of iOS could come with chips that have been built by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co and this could mean that a key component could be taken away from their rivals Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy S4 vs iPhone 6: octo-core vs dual-core? (rumors)
AppleInsider reports that details about this come from a researcher of Citigroup Global Markets who was quoted in a recent report. Hsu made the claim that 20-nanometer quad core processors will more than likely show up in the iPads of the future, the Apple TV and maybe even MacBook computers.
He did however say that iPhones in the future would continue to have dual core processors, and this was down to issues with consumption. The next iPhone is rumored to be called the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 and will purportedly launch at WWDC in the summer of 2013.
On the contrary, rumors of the next generation Galaxy S phone, the Samsung Galaxy S4, poins to a possible 8-cores setup. The octo-core Samsung Galaxy S4 will basically be two sets of quad-core chips in one device. It is rumored to be unveiled at MWC sometime in the start of next year.
