Three of the most hyped about devices of 2012 were the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Apple iPhone 5. But which of these three kings deserve all the limelight? Let’s find out.

iPhone 5 vs Nokia Lumia 920 vs Samsung Galaxy S3

The Nokia Lumia 920 weighs 185 grams and has an 8.7 megapixel camera, with superb looks. The Samsung Galaxy S3 weighs 133 grams and the Apple iPhone 5 is only 112 grams. Both phones come with cameras that are 8 megapixels. The Nokia Lumia 920 display comes with 332ppi and this is better thatnthe Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 5. The Nokia Lumia 920 works on Windows Phone 8 and this is the latest OS of all the handsets. The operating system is very easy to learn and the device is available on Telstra now.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with some superb hardware and it matches what the other two devices offer, it was also the best-seller of 2012. The device supports SD card and MHL, while neither of the two other handsets does. The display is the largest and the phone will cost around $51 per month. Telstra has the device for $60 with their Every Day Connect Plan.

If you want the Apple iPhone 5 you will be happy to know that you can get the best deals here down under. The device is available on Virgin with a contract of two years for around $47. This means that if you take it on the Big Plan, you pay $1,128, which is a cheaper deal that you could get in the US or UK and you would not have to pay out anything upfront. The Apple iPhone 5 is also available with other carriers in Australia. It happens to be the thinnest and the lightest of the three devices and it has iOS, which is very stable. The handset is also guaranteed to get updates in the future in comparison to its rivals, whose chances are not certain.

So which of these top three handsets should you go for? Would you choose the Nokia Lumia 920 for the display and camera, but which is rather bulky and which has an apps selection that is limited? If it is apps that you want then the Apple iPhone 5 has plenty to offer, while the iOS has an easy learning curve. The downside is that the iPhone 5 comes with a display that is small and iOS doesn’t have the deep customisation of its rivals. Then there is the Samsung Galaxy S3 which offers the largest screen, but the exterior design is not the best. Its camera comes in last place behind the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Apple iPhone 5 too. However it makes up for it with Android which is highly customisable and there are plenty of storage choices, along with superb battery life, LTE and NFC compatibility.
