It’s no wonder as one of the handsets staff can get for free is the new Apple iPhone 5 which is turning out to be the most-wanted device this year.

Yahoo offering staff free iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 & Nokia Lumia 920 among other choices

Just a couple of weeks ago there was a rumour of this happening and now the plan has been put into action under the program name of “Yahoo! Smart Phones, Smart Fun”

Employees at Yahoo will be able to choose from some of the best devices on the market. These include the iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X, HTC EVO 4G LTE or the Nokia Lumia 920. Not only are free phones up for grabs but Yahoo will also be offering special mobile plans. Yahoo will at the same time discontinue IT support for Blackberries.

The program is sure to boost morale among the workforce at Yahoo however the idea behind giving the phones away is so that employees are able to use the same devices as their users do. While the phone giveaway will end up costing Yahoo a few million, this is just pocket change, as the company have annual revenues of billions and the workforce will be motivated.

Would your boss give you a new iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 or Nokia Lumia 920 for free? Who doesn’t want to work at Yahoo right now?
