September is here and for Android fans that is very good news as there is about to be a flood of Android handsets coming our way along with updates and plenty of announcements. These are set to wash away the iPhone 5 if it too is released. We have already had announcements from Samsung with the Galaxy Note 2 and this is just the start.
iPhone 5 to be surrounded by top Android this month
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with a 5.5 inch display of 1280 x 720 pixels, 2GB of RAM and is powered by a quad core 1.6GHz processor. It comes with an 8 megapixel back camera and a 1.9 on the front and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. S Pen has been upgraded and is now more ergonomic. It is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and will be launching in Europe in October and in the US later in 2012.
Samsung also introduced their camera which runs Jelly Bean and has a 4.8 inch display of HD Super AMOLED. It comes packed with a 1.4GHz processor and has 21 x optical zoom and a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor. It will be available in a choice of 3G/4G and Wi-Fi.
Sony is set to introduce their Xperia T with a 4.6 inch 1280 x 720 HD display and a 13 megapixel camera runs by a 1.5GHz dual core processor. It runs a custom Android 4.0 ICS and it will get updated to Jelly Bean. The handset is expected to be launched sometime in the weeks to come.
LG are said to be launching the Optimus G that comes with a True HD screen of 1280 x 768 and runs on the Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The device will have a 13 megapixel camera and a 1.3 on the front. It will have custom Android 4.0. OS and is thought to be launching in Korea in September and the rest of the world later in September.
Next Wednesday Motorola are holding an event in NY and they are thought to be revealing the Droid Razr HD and the Razr M on Verizon. Amazon are also set to announce their new Kindle Fire tablet and there is a rumor that there will be a flood of Nexus handsets coming onto the market very soon.
So it appears that the iPhone 5 may not have much room to wiggle in stores this fall despite taking its time to release and letting flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X have their time to shine.
