The new iPhone 5 will be a lot trimmer and taller than the iPhone 4S. If rumours are to be believed the next generation iPhone will be 18% thinner than its older brother and taller to accomodate the rumors 4-inch display.
iPhone 5 rumors
Rumor has it that the iPhone 5 will be launched 12th September, so it’s not long to wait to see if Apple have also increased the size of the screen to 4 inches, in a frame of just 7.6mm in thickness. The iPhone 4S currently stands at 9.3mm. Of course there have been plenty of rumours going around about what the new iPhone 5 might look like and what specs it may come with thanks to leaked shots of pre-production parts but as Apple are keeping tight lipped, they have to be taken with a pinch of salt.
If the iPhone is slimmer is would make handsets like the HTC One S seem huge at 7.8mm and the iPhone 4S would look very chunky in comparison. Rumors about a smaller connector port do seem to suggest that Apple may have shed some weight from the handset but for now we will just have to wait another month, hopefully, to find out.
