The Evad3rs are coming to the rescue of those waiting for the Apple iPhone 5 iOS untethered jailbreak. This a new dev team comprised of some of the biggest names in jailbreaking.

iPhone 5 iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak hopes raised

The team consists of @MuscleNerd, @pod2g, @Planetbeing and @pimskeks. The jailbreaking team features some of the best names that have been working on the iOS 6 jailbreak, with some of the members having already worked together.

The new group was a part of the Dream Team who worked on the jailbreak that came out last year for iOS. The good news is that when the untethered jailbreak does come, the team are not going to be asking for donations.

The group of developers are on Twitter with the name of @evad3rs and this could be where they will reveal the jailbreak when it is released. On Twitter they said:

“We (+ @musclenerd @planetbeing @pimskeks) are the @evad3rs. We don’t take any donations ATM, please don’t be fooled at donating to others.”

The group are the ones behind photos that have been posted online of the Apple iPhone 5 jailbroken devices, which was shown with the Apple iPad 4, along with the Apple iPad Mini.

It has always been a case of teamwork to get the jailbreaks in the past and pod2g and Planetbeing have already been working side by side on the jailbreak since January, when the developer released his app for the iPad.

There has been news over the past few weeks and thanks to teamwork there is now a bright future for jailbreaking and a lot of progress has been made on the jailbreak for iOS 6. The Evad3rs team have been working on it for just a week and already vulnerabilities have been found and progress has been made. PlanetBeing said that they had found a vulnerability while testing others and that this would replace the exploit that the team had wanted to save to assist with jailbreaks in the future.

The team may launch a website when they reveal the untethered jailbreak in the near future. The last jailbreak for iOS was by the Chronic Dev Team when they released Absinthe. Older devices on iOS can use RedSn0w, this includes the Apple iPhone 4S.

When the Evad3rs release the jailbreak it will be the untethered jailbreak and this has already been seen working on an Apple iPhone 5.

There is no news of a release date at the moment. It is thought that the team have been waiting for Apple to reveal iOS 6.1 before they release the jailbreak. At the moment we don’t know if the iOS 6 jailbreak would work on that version of iOS which is on the Apple iPhone 5 along with the Apple iPad 4, which are minor iOS 6.0.2 along with iOS 6.0.1 or whether it will be for the full version of iOS 6.1.

It was said that the latest update of iOS 6.1 did break some of the jailbreak for the Apple iPhone 5 but it could be that the team have managed to work around this and this would allow users to jailbreak the Apple iPhone 5 along with the Apple iPad, which are on the current versions of iOS. However for the time being you might want to not make the upgrade to iOS 6.1 and stick with iOS 6 for now, in case the untethered jailbreak only works on this.
