Many iOS users are waiting for the release of the untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5. Recently there was hope for the untethered jailbreak thanks to a website that popped up, however it was followed by disappointment as it turned out to be yet another dud.

Redp0ison iPhone 5 iOS 6.0.1 untethered jailbreak another dud

At the moment there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 or iOS 6.0.1 and the iPhone 5. Jailbreak fans have been taken in since the release of the new iPhone by people wanting money. Official names that are associated with jailbreaking include @musclenerd, @p0sixninja, @pod2g and @planetbeing. These people will make it be known if and when an untethered jailbreak is released, via Twitter.

The Dev Team will also keep fans updated and at the moment the news is not good. A recent website to pop up is the Redp0ison website, which claimed to have the untethered jailbreak and they did a great job with a convincing design. There is another site called EasyUnlockiPhone, they too are claiming to have the jailbreak for the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 3GS and iPad 2.

The team at the website say that there is a new tool and once the tool has been used, owners of the iPhone 5 will have Cydia installed on the handset. However when this was checked out it appears that it will cost you $24.99. It however also says that there is a 30 day money back guarantee and lifetime updates, along with support. They say that this method takes around 5 minutes and there is a guide.

Of course sites that charge a fee for the untethered jailbreak are almost always scams and unless it is proven otherwise, we can assume that this is a scam too and it should be avoided. The Dev Team do not charge for the jailbreak for the iPhone and they do it in their own time.

Dwayne is a jack of all trades. Not only is he an executive editor and collaborates on many stories here at Autoomobile, but he also does artwork and handles the running of the website on a daily basis. We’re not sure what we would do without Dwayne, especially on those days when we have a great scoop and our servers can’t handle the influx of traffic.
