There is no denying that the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 have gained a lot of attention since their release. However for those upgrading to the new device who want to jailbreak their handsets this has meant they now have to wait for an untethered jailbreak solution to come about.
If you are hunting for a jailbreak then you must have come across two individuals who claimed to have the jailbreak. In case you didn’t know, both of them turned out to be scammers looking for an easy way to make money.
iPhone 5 iOS 6 untethered jailbreak solutions advertised on Twitter proven fake
Of course you may want to think twice about installing unknown software on your phone, but then many people do choose to jailbreak their handsets anyway so this has become somewhat of a norm now. The two who were offering the jailbreak for the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 both wanted people to part with their cash and the Dev Team were quick to point out that at the moment there isn’t a jailbreak out there.
One of those claiming to have the jailbreak was jherthop. When he was exposed he did offer refunds, but at the moment this doesn’t seem to have happened. At least he did show some remorse, which is more than can be said for the other scammer.
He wanted people to hand over $500 for the jailbreak and he went to the trouble of uploading a screenshot, which he said was the jailbreak working on the iPod Touch 5G. However his poor skills in Photoshop let him down and he was uncovered too. He then turned to abusing people who were calling him a fraud on Twitter.
At this moment in time there is NO untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 5 or iOS 6. So if you find someone offering it for cash, think twice before handing over money as when the jailbreak does finally make its way out, you won’t have to pay for it.
