Not everyone sees why Apple have to release a smaller iPad as there is nothing at all wrong with the 10 inch tablet we have now. Apple of course wants to compete in the 7 inch tablet market alongside Amazon, hence the rumors about the iPad Mini.
iPad Mini looks to be packing mega battery (rumor)
There have been reports of iPad Mini accessories along with secret boxes being sent to retailers and these came about following predictions about the invites for the event which will launch the iPad Mini in October. Within the last few hours there have also been leaked photos of what is said to be the battery of the iPad Mini. The photos show a battery of 4490mAh and if this is the battery in the new device it would mean users would have around 10 hours of use which is very good.
Given that the iPad Mini is expected to be a smaller and cheaper version of the New iPad, there were rumors that Apple would be cutting corners everywhere from RAM, lack of a Retina Display, to battery capacity. So we’re glad to see that the iPad Mini doesn’t have a “mini” battery.
In the photos the battery markings are very similar to photos showing the real Apple batteries, therefore this is either one of the best replicas we have seen or it is the real thing. However this could be a battery taken from a prototype of the iPad Mini. There is a blank spot on the battery, which indicated that this is a part that is not ready for shipping and generally means that it is waiting for Apple’s approval.
