Even though the latest iOS 6 was only released yesterday, and before some have even downloaded and installed it, developers have brought out a tethered jailbreak. This comes by way of the Redsn0w tool. However the jailbreak will not work with all devices.
Redsnow tool: Tethered iOS 6 jailbreak for some iPhone & iPod touch models
Hackers are very fast when it comes to jail breaking a new operating system. Just days ago one hacker was reported to have advised people not to make the upgrade to iOS 6 until there was a jailbreak for it. Well the Redsn0w iO S6 jailbreak is out now and it works on the A4 based iPhone 4, 3GS and the 4th generation of the iPod Touch. The jailbreak is also tethered and at this moment there is not an untethered one available.
News about the jailbreak for iOS 6 came thanks to Redmond Pie courtesy of the iPhone Dev Team. Of course we do not recommend anyone to jailbreak their device as there is always the possibility that something could go wrong. However if you want to go ahead and jailbreak your device we will supply the details. Of course you do need to make a full back up of your information and a word of warning, if you rely on unlock, you should not make the update to iOS 6 right now.
If you want to jailbreak your device with iOS 6 you will need to get the latest version of Redsn0w for your Mac or Windows computer. You can find this along with the instructions needed on how to jailbreak at Redmond Pie. You will also need to know how to boot tethered on the iOS 6 system and how to install Cydia.
Bear in mind that the jailbreak is only for devices which include the A4 processor – iPhone 4, 3GS and the 4th generation of iPod Touch.
