Infiniti will be issuing a recall to recall back the Infiniti QX30 after it was discovered that there might be an issue with the driver airbag.
According to the reports, the airbag on the driver side might deploy randomly which could cause injury to the driver. It was explained that the electrostatic discharge to a broken steering column module clock spring combined with insufficient grounding could be the reason behind the problem.
The recall will affect a total of 17,507 models. Models that are affected include those that were made from the 10th of August 2015 to the 16th of June 2017. Owners will be contacted starting the 18th of December. Those affected will get a commutator ring which will help assure that the vehicle has sufficient grounding. The fix will be offered for free.
The Infiniti QX30 is not the only one experiencing this issue as Mercedes also issues a recall for their CLA and E-Class models over the same issue.
