The Huawei Mate 9 went up against the OnePlus 3T and it arrived in November of last year and was received very well. At the CES 2017 the phone maker revealed that the handset would be heading to the US, but they didn’t say that another variation would be arriving, but it seems that this is exactly what happened.
Now it is looking as though a beefed up version of the Huawei Mate 9 has arrived quietly as many online retailers are offering a variant with 6GB and 128GB of storage. However while it finally has what it takes to take on the OnePlus 3T, the downside is that it costs a whole lot more, at $900, while the 3T is $479.
The Huawei Mate 9 has been available for $599.99 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, but the new handset is $899 if you want 6GB and 128GB of storage. The RAM and storage seem to be the only changes to the handset, other than that they are both the same.
What is surprising is the higher spec version of the Huawei Mate 9 hasn’t been given a big fanfare as the phone maker hasn’t said anything about it.
