The HTC One X is looking a bit passé now that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is almost upon us, but HTC aren’t going to admit defeat and walk offstage. If rumors are right, HTC already has a flagship device in the pipeline – and one that will blow the Samsung Galaxy S3 off that stage.
HTC One X bigger brother to take on Samsung Galaxy S3 (rumor)
An anonymous source has said that HTC is designing a new device that’ll feature a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 SoC (maybe the APQ8064) with 2GB of RAM, a 4.7” display, LTE integration, and 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.8MP front-facing one.
Most of the specs are in line with the One X, but that quad-core Qualcomm S4 chip and 2GB RAM could make this mystery gadget a real object of desire for Christmas.
Sadly, there’s a fly in the ointment of credibility for the source. This source claims that this phone will feature an Adreno 350 GPU, but Qualcomm’s documents say that the APQ8064 is paired with the Adreno 320. It may be a typo, but then again it could be rubbish!
So, what do you think of this HTC rumour? If it turns out to be true, would you eschew the hugely-vaunted Samsung Galaxy S3 for a Qualcomm S4 powered monster from HTC sometime later this year?
