HTC have not really raised their head during the summer months, but according to BGR they may now be emerging as photos have been leaked of a new handset from HTC with the codename Proto. The photo looks very much like a follow up to the One series devices (One X, V & S) that the company revealed early this year.
HTC Proto has good looks of HTC One X but not hardware
The Verge said that the HTC Proto is only 9.62mm thick and it will have a WVGA display of 4 inches. The processor is a Qualcomm 1GHz and the handset is said to have a 5 megapixel camera.
The website has said that the design of the device is rounded with a case that flows and it looks very similar to the high end devices in the One range, in particular the gorgeous looking HTC One X. However it is thought that the specs of the new handset will not match those of the HTC One X+ which is said to be coming out in the fall. Quite possibly the device will be in the low end price range ready for the holiday period.
With HTC not doing so well in 2012 and losing major Android market share to rivals like Samsung and Motorola, here’s hoping their plans of moving to mid and low-range Android handsets pays off. Check out the pictures of the HTC Proto below.
