Sure, there’s no denying that the LG G5 took the spotlight during the Mobile World Congress earlier this week because, there’s really seemingly nothing to dislike about the phone. But then HTC One M10 would come into the picture soon, and we are excited for that to happen too. Just that it’s only in a form of a teaser image now.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 did have its fair share of attention during the event, alongside its LG counterpart; it’s only HTC that wasn’t ready to flaunt its M10 yet. But it did show off its One X9 and midrange Desire family. So at least there was something to ensure phone enthusiasts that they are still in the works of producing a contender powerful enough to fight off premium rivals.
For the unfamiliar, the One M10 (codenamed ‘Perfume’) would be expected to feature a 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor would be powering up that display. It’s going to run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and of course, its 12-megapixel rear camera is to be labelled as UltraPixel instead. There’s a 5MP front camera for selfies, a larger battery and an “Always On Display” feature.
Since we don’t exactly know how it’s going to look like, we’re quite certain it’s not going to be as pretty as its rivals, as what HTC seems to be aiming for is power. Perhaps this could be the start of a beauty vs brain smartphone war; seeing that the HTC One M10 wouldn’t be prioritizing its appearance. It’s probably plausible though.
