Owners of the HTC Droid Incredible 2 are still waiting for the update to Ice Cream Sandwich and there is no sign of it, despite the fact that we are heading into September.
HTC DROID Incredible 2 Ice Cream Sandwich update: Coming eventually
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich was supposed to be heading the way of the Droid Incredible 2 in August but it seems to have got lost along with way. However HTC did exactly the same thing with the Verizon Thunderbolt, but for some reason the Incredible 2 seems to have been put on the back burner and people are now wondering if they will ever get it.
ICS happens to be an important update, the largest since the jump up from Froyo. It comes with numerous new features such as being able to unlock the handset with your face, NFC and improvements in text to speech.
Other handset makers have given support to the update to Ice Cream Sandwich and some of the handsets that have older versions of Android are said to be getting the update to ICS. Currently a lot of devices have received the update, despite it being slow to make an appearance. Of course this is not the latest OS, Jelly Bean is out now and is on around 1% of handsets at the moment.
For the moment a lot of HTC Droid Incredible 2 owners just have to wait. Even if there are some issues, HTC will deliver the update (although they may strip it down a little like they had to at the time of the HTC Desire).
