While Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has been announced, HTC smartphone users would be only too happy if they got a taste of the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update which has eluded most phones till now. It seems that this may become a reality within the next few weeks if you own an HTC device as they have said through Facebook that they will be releasing the update within a couple of weeks for multiple devices.
HTC: Android Ice Cream Sandwich update coming to multiple devices this month
Users of HTC handsets have been contacting HTC asking when the update will be ready for their particular make and model. HTC replied that the update to ICS will be happening very soon for a handful of Android smartphones:
It seems that the HTC Thunderbolt will be getting the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich before the end of August. Of course devices that have less than 512MB of ROM will not be eligible for the update, which includes the HTC ChaCha, Wildfire S and the Desire HD, among others. However devices like the Desire S, EVO 3D, Sensation series and more are compatible.
