It has been quite some time since HTC made an announcement, but today this changed when they revealed their latest model running Windows Phone 8, the 8X.
HTC 8X Windows Phone 8 device announced
The 8X comes with a 4.3 inch screen which is protected by Gorilla Glass and is of Super LCD 2, with 720p resolution. The handset weighs 130g and is 132.35 x 66.2 x 10.12 mm. The device is longer, wider and fatter than the iPhone 5.
The handset comes with a dual core Qualcomm S4 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM and it has 16GB of storage built in. On the downside it lacks support for SD card. The device supports NFC but the Bluetooth is only 2.1 compatible.
The camera on the front of the device is 2.1 megapixels with wide angle. This is thought to be able to capture three times more information than other leading handsets on the market. The back camera is 8 megapixels with an aperture of F2.0, LED flash and a 28mm lens. Both the front and the back camera can take video at 1080p and is supported with the HTC ImageChip.
The HTC 8X comes with Beats by Dre, as you might expect and it is run on a battery of 1800mAh. HTC say this should only need recharging once daily.
