After a long absence it seems that HP is coming back with a device powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This is according to benchmark tests when an odd device showed up earlier this week.
HP Bender to take on Samsung Galaxy S3 & other flagship Androids very soon (leak)
According to SlashGear, the device has the HP branding and the codename of Bender. It seems that the device will also run on the same Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon processor as the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is currently the top Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone on the market.
The software universe of web OS has gone and in its place HP has picked Android 4.0, which means when the device comes on to the market it will have at least ICS and maybe even Jelly Bean depending on how far long it is. According to the benchmark the device has a screen of 1366 x 720 and the 1.5 GHz Snapdragon CPU. Both very exciting specs.
This news leaks just after the new CEO of HP said that they would be releasing a smartphone at some time in the future. She did say that HP was in no rush as they wanted to bring out a solid handset. One thing is for sure they will not be making the same mistakes they did in the past.
Do you think there is space for another Android smartphone to fight for flagship status against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and Motorola DROID RAZR HD?
