We have heard that Huawei is going to offer the Honor 8 Android 7.0 Nougat very early. It has been said that they want to give the latest OS to the device as soon as they can.

Huawei had said that the Honor 8 would get the update and EMUI 5.0 in February, but now they have changed their minds and said that the updates is heading to the device starting from January 16.

The Android 7.0 Nougat update is 1.97GB and it is going to be sent out to Honor 8 handsets that are not locked. The update has been seen in Japan since January, but people in the US have had to wait.

The phone maker says that people should back up their Honor 8 and make sure that they have at least 50% battery life left on the device before updating. The update to Nougat brings with it stability improvements, along with system optimizations and enhanced apps.

So if you have the Honor 8 you might want to start checking to find out if you can make the update to Android 7.0 Nougat.
