The Honda Insight might not have worked out for Honda in the past but Honda is hoping that their new prototype could help revive the name.

Honda announces that they will be showing off a Honda Insight Hybrid prototype at the Detroit Auto Show next month. Although the vehicle will be carrying the same Insight nameplate, it is a brand new prototype.

The new vehicle will be coming in as a 5 passenger sedan that will sit above the Honda Civic model. According to Honda, the vehicle will be running on their two-motor hybrid powertrain that would allow it to compete with the other compact hybrid in the market.

Honda’s goal is to have two-thirds of their global sales by come electrified vehicles by 2030 and this should help them achieve that goal faster. More details should be released when they pull off the covers next month.
