Honda CR-V Has Been Announced, Not Arriving In UK Until 2017

The new Honda CR-V has been announced for the US market and it is going on sale there very soon. However if you want the vehicle and you live in the UK, you are going to have to wait until 2017, or possibly 2018.

The 2017 Honda CR-V was revealed recently at the LA Motor Show, just before it went on sale over in the US. In the UK it is a different story however. The new version of the vehicle offers up LED lighting on the front and back, narrower A-pillars, a longer bonnet and it comes with 18 or 19 inch alloys.

The 5th gen of the Honda CR-V comes with the all-new platform and it also features turbocharged engine options for the first time ever, plus a wheel base that is longer. The styling is more sculpted and it looks more premium than before.

A spokesperson for Honda in the UK suggested that the new Honda CR-V represents their bid to rival premium products, including the Volvo CX60 and the Land Rover Discovery Sport.

We have only heard about the petrol engines of the Honda CR-V for the time being and these include the 1.5 litre four cylinder turbocharged offering 190 horses and the 2.4 litre direct injection iVTEC offering up 184 horses. Both come with the CVT. It is thought that when the vehicle does arrive in the UK it will come with the 1.5 litre turbocharged engine along with the 1.6 litre iDTEC diesel.

The 2017 Honda CR-V is being produced in North America in Ohio and Indiana along with Ontario in Canada. But do you live in the UK and are you waiting for its arrival, let us know.
