As good as the Honda Civic Type R is, it is not exactly the most affordable model out there but maybe Honda is looking to lighten the burden for their fans with a cheaper model.
This came after The Truth About Cars spotted what looked like a downgraded version of the HOnda Civic Type R when they were looking through NHTSA’s filling. Based on what they saw, Honda registered two Type R with one coming with far fewer features and equipment when compared to the other.
According to the reports, both models will be fitted with the same turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and six-speed manual transmission which means performance should stay the same but the cheaper model might be missing out on some crucial features like the LED lights, automatic climate control, premium audio, navigation and more.
No word on when we will be seeing the cheaper model as Honda has not made any announcement yet.
