One of the most anticipated of all games this year in GTA 5, but fans have just heard that it is to be put back 6 months. It is now said to be making outs way out on 17th September as opposed to in the spring. The game will be making its way to the PS3, along with Xbox 360, however fans are now worried that the game may be revealed on the next generation of consoles.
Sony could be announcing the PS4 on 20th February, while Microsoft could reveal their console at the E3 in June. On the other hand they could choose to launch it at a separate event before this. It has also been said that the games cannot be played on the next gen consoles, which would also apply to an older discs of the current PS3 and Xbox 360.
So you have to ask why Rockstar may reveal GTA 5 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 if this were the case. Those who buy the game when it comes out in September could then find out that they game will not work on the next gen consoles, which would be out in December. Is this something that we could possibly be faced with?
Could Rockstar have put the game back as they know that the new consoles will be coming out before 17th September? However if this were true what could be the reason for them launching the game on the older consoles and not the new ones? Gamers would be in uproar surely? This may then have a negative effect on the saes of the new Sony and Microsoft consoles as people who have the game could stick with the older consoles to play the game.
Nothing is written in stone at the moment when it comes to the next generation of consoles. However gamers are worried with the many rumours going around that the next gen consoles won’t play older games. Are you one of these people?
