A report has come from Android Noodles of a document that shows Japan’s Docomo roadmap for this winter and on it are three Nexus devices from LG, Sony and Samsung. There is a table with three columns referencing each of the devices.
Upcoming Google phones tipped: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Superior, LG Optimus Nexus & Sony Xperia Nexus
In May of this year the Wall Street Journal said that Google would be partnering with more than one company and would release as many as 5 different Nexus handsets by the end of 2012. With Asus having already revealed the Nexus 7 and rumor of another three devices on their way, it seems that those rumors from May could prove true.
Droid-Life points out that this morning there has been news of a device from Samsung with the model number GT-I9260 and Nexus was mentioned. It was dubbed “Superior”.
LG and Sony have also been mentioned and at this time we can only guess that they will be using it with their respective best series i.e. Optimus and Xperia. Whether they will follow Samsung’s naming style (Galaxy Nexus) and name their devices the Optimus Nexus & Xperia Nexus remains to be seen.
