Google Nexus 6P: The Complaints Just Keep Coming In

By  |

The Google Nexus 6P is a handset that has done very well since it came to the market and we have to admit that there is a great deal to like about the device. There are some downsides to it though.

Google Nexus 6P owners have been reporting issues associated with the device and it seems that one of the first is that the handset goes into landscape mode and then it will not revert back to portrait.

The Google Nexus 6P has also had many other issues, with one being that the handset locks up when making a call. There have been issues with the sensors on the touchscreen display and some have taken it back an got refunds. This has been down to the fact that the issue was hardware related.

But are you the owner of the Google Nexus 6P and have you seen issues with the device?

I’ve been facing the following issues from day one:

    1. The microphone is very weak. When you put the phone in speaker mode, no one can hear you on the other side of the call
    2. Due to the faulty mic, Ok Google doesn’t function well or at all
    3. When holding the phone on your ear to talk, sometime mute button or other keys get activated. The sensor detecting the motion does not work well.
    4. Have seen phone restarting on its own a few times only.

Overall I’m satisfied with the build quality.

Had mine 3 months. Zero issues and literally this is the first I’ve heard of these problems. I hope the author would at least quote sources. Were any of these complaints from handsets that were rooted and running anything other than stock Marshmallow? THe reality is that the “sources” are 8 people on Reddit complaining about a million handsets.

I had a problem with the microphone, initially. I put my finger over the noise cancelling microphone and my friend on the other end of the line said he could hardly hear me. Since the 6.01 update, I haven’t seen the problem, again. Otherwise, I love the phone. “OK Google” works really well….even when the phone is on a table. I haven’t had any other problems.
