Google Nexus 6: What’s Wrong Now, Nougat?!

By  |

Owners of the Nexus 6 were jumping around for joy when they found out that they could update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The OS hasn’t been without issues for some people and it seems that now there is another issue and its affecting the Nexus 6 speaker and sound.

If you check out the AOSP Issue Tracker on the Google Forums you will see that many users have been having the same issue. When on the speakerphone the person you are talking to can hear an echo or squealing sound.

This issue appeared on the Nexus 6 straight after updating to Android 7.1.1 Nougat and it seems to be an issue with the microphone. We say this because if you mute the microphone the odd noises stop.

Many owners of the Nexus 6 have gone back to Android 7.0 Nougat and they found that the issue was resolved. Google now know about the issue and they have now passed it to the development team, so a fix should be coming out soon.
