Google Nexus 6: But Where’s Android 7.1.1?

By  |

Owners of the Nexus 6 are not happy chappies as while the handset officially supports Android Nougat, the device seems to have been left out of the second developer preview for the update.

Google began to roll out the second developer preview of Android 7.1 Nougat for select devices. This was said to include the Nexus 6P, HTC Nexus 9, Pixel C and the Nexus 5X. The update brings with it new features and it is going to be made available in December.

The Android 7.1.1 comes with the developer features that are already on the Pixel and Pixel XL devices and it fixes bugs and brings optimization. The first of the previews brought with it app shortcuts and image keyboards, which had previously only been available on Pixel devices.

However while the Google Nexus 6 is said to officially have support for Android Nougat the second developer preview hasn’t made it to the handset.
