Google Nexus 5 Coming In Fast This May With KLP & Full HD (Rumors)

By  |

Google will be having their I/O event this year in May and this is when they are thought to be revealing the next Nexus handset. It is thought that this will be the Nexus 5. Right now we don’t know a lot about the specs or the details; however it has been suggested that LG will be behind the Nexus handset.

If this is true then the Nexus 5 would happen to be the second device to come from LG and Google.

The HTC Nexus One was the first of the Nexus handsets to be released in 2010. This was then followed on by the Nexus S in 2010 and then the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in 2011.

The LG Nexus 4 was last in 2012 and has been the most popular of all the Nexus handsets. This is perhaps one of the reasons why Google have chosen LG again. It has also been said that the Nexus 5 could come with a very similar price to that of the LG Nexus 4.

The LG Nexus 4 was released into the Google Play Store, where it sold out very fast. There have been issues with stock and even today the device can be difficult to find.

It has been said that LG already have a prototype of the Nexus 5 and this will be based on the LG Optimus G Pro which was recently revealed. From that we know of its 5-inch 1080p display.

The Google Nexus 5 should have the latest Android and this could very well be called Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. It is thought that this too will be revealed in May.

Specs of the Nexus 5 have been based on pure speculation, however as it is based on the LG Optimus Pro, we do have an idea of what it may be like.

It could come with a True HD IPS display that has a resolution of 1080 x 1920p, which may be 5 inches, with 441ppi.

It could be minus the button on the panel at the front though as Nexus devices now solely rely on on-screen keys only.

It is thought that the other specs on the handset might include 2GB of RAM, NFC, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and a 3.5mm audio jack.

We could have a camera of 13 megapixels on the device and this may come with LED flash, autofocus, recording in HD and Street View Photo Sphere mode.

It has been said that the Nexus 5 would have a case that is larger and this would make room for the larger battery, which would be needed for the larger display. The battery has been said to be 3000mAh. Owners will also be able to get around one full days use just with a single charge from the battery.

The LG Nexus 4 was released with 8GB or 16GB and some people have said that there is not enough room with 8GB. Google may launch their new device with 16GB or 32GB options. As for microSD card support, it still seems unlikely.

One of the biggest plus points of the LG Nexus 4 has been the price tag and Google might not want to change this. They could offer the Nexus 5 at $300 for the 16GB, while the 32GB version could be around $350.
