Google Nexus 5 Looking Forward To Starting New Life

By  |

Support for the Google Nexus 5 has ceased and with it the latest update. The handset didn’t make it to the list for Android 7.0 beta and this is a clear sign that it has now reached its expiry date.

The Nexus 5 was three years old in November this year and this means that it is an old handset according to Google and they don’t have to send out security updates. However, it has been said that the Google Nexus 5 may start a new life, by way of developers and a custom ROM.

The Nexus 5 is known for being a developer’s device and surely it is only going to be a matter of time before the source code for Android Nougat is released and someone offers up the CM14 ROM for the handset.

So come on developers, show some love for the Google Nexus 5 and offer up Android Nougat 7 for the handset.
