Google has given up on the Nexus 5 so this means the handset has seen its final update. It hasn’t been put on the list for Android 7.0 beta and this of course means that it is defunct.
The Nexus 5 was three back in November and so Google class the device as being old. This means that they don’t have to send out updates any longer, nor security updates. But the device is about to start life afresh thanks to the developers and custom ROMs.
The Nexus 5 has always been classed as a developers handsets so it will be just a matter of time for one of the developers to launch a custom Nougat ROM for the device.
Owners of the Nexus 5 are hoping that developers are going to offer the CM14 ROM which will bring Android 7 Nougat to the device.
