Google Nexus 4 Gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

By  |

The Google Nexus 4 has been a very popular device with both owners and developers. Owners of the device have been asking about when they are going to be getting the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

There is no getting away from the fact that the Google Nexus 4 is a superb device and many people still have them today. This is perhaps one of the main reasons why developers are now offering the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

There are two updated ROMs available to take the handset to Android 6.0 Marhsmallow. One comes from Dmitry Grinberg and the other is from Aldrin Holmes. If you own the Google Nexus 4 you can go ahead and update your handset by following the steps below.

1. Start by transferring the TWRP file to the device and update/install it.
2. Turn off the device and switch it on to the Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button).
3. Wait for the TWP UI to load up, then choose Wipe > Factory Reset.
4. Next, transfer one of the ROM-GApps into the device and reboot to enter Recovery mode again.
5. Now, you are ready to enjoy the Marshmallow update on your Nexus 4.

If you have followed the steps above you should now be left holding the Google Nexus 4 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed.

I have Nexus 4 and having a problem that it gets hanged. The buttons at the bottom I.e. back button stops working so I can’t back from one screen to other screen. I tried recovery mode as described above but failed. What should I do?
