The Google Nexus 4 was popular when it arrived on the market but now it is showing its age and sadly this means that official updates have now stopped. While this means that officially it will not get updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, unofficially however it is a different story as developers have come up with not just one but two ROMs for owners to update the handset.
The two Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROMs that are available for owners of the Google Nexus 4 to updated to and one of them comes from Dmitry Grinberg, while the other is from Aldrin Holmes. Anyone owning the handset may want to follow the steps below to update their handset.
• Start by transferring the TWRP file to the device and update/install it.
• Turn off the device and switch it on to Recovery Mode ( Volume up + Volume Down + Power Button).
• Once the TWP UI loads up, choose Wipe > Factory Reset.
• Next Transfers one fo the ROM-GApps into the device and reboot to enter Recovery mode again.
If all has gone to plan you should now be left holding the Google Nexus 4 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed, congratulations.
