While the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the best selling smartphone of 2012, it may not be for much longer given the headway the iPhone 5 is making. Today a new report from Kantar World Panel suggests that iOS has overtaken Android, all thanks to the iPhone 5 release. So this gives us an idea of just how well the iPhone 5 is selling.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 of course isn’t slowing down in terms of sales either, and has already broken the 30 million sales mark well ahead of its predicted Christmas deadline. And now Samsung has reinforcements to bring up the total tally by way of a bigger and smaller S3 model i.e. the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.
Samsung Galaxy S3 reinforcements get spruced up for battle against iPhone 5 sales
The Samsung Galaxy S3 was offered in two colours, pebble blue and marble white, when it was first released. As the device gained so much attention when it was launched, AT&T then announced that they had an exclusive garnet red device. Samsung then said that more colours were coming in the form of amber brown, sapphire black and titanium grey.
Now it looks as though the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini will be getting the same treatment in order to keep sales going strong. According to GforGames, rumours are that both of these devices will get more colours very soon.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will come in amber brown, ruby wine, and topaz blue sometime in 2013 and the Mini will get titanium grey, onyx black and garnet red colourings sometime in late December or early in 2013.
The newly coloured devices will purportedly be on show at the MWC, and we might even see them at the CES in January. This is also where the Samsung Galaxy S4 might make its first appearance with a display of 1080p.
However at the moment there hasn’t been any confirmation from Samsung about the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the new colours for the existing devices. Whatever it may be, the Galaxy range will need to team up if it wishes to stay ahead of the iPhone in terms of sales. On last reports, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has already hit 5 million in sales bringing Samsung’s total tally higher up.
