Just weeks ago Ford talked about their plans for the future of vehicles and they mentioned developing several electric vehicles along with hybrids. One of the vehicles is said to be the Ford Mustang Hybrid.

Ford wants to go up against rivals by way of the Dodge Challenger and the Chevrolet Camaro. However, not long after Ford spoke up, Volkswagen decided to get in on the act as they revealed the pure EV Golf GTI.

Volkswagen said that they were at work on a high output version of the Golf GTI and said that the vehicle was going to be totally different from the e-Golf.

The Golf GTI EV is said to be offering up a driving range of 200 miles and it will be able to go from standing still to 60mph in only 4 seconds. This may just give Volkswagen an upper hand.

We are not expecting to see the Golf GTI EV to go up against the Ford Mustang Hybrid at all though; instead the Golf is getting the edge over the Ford Focus due to it having a market reach that is wider.
