Two out of three of the Chevrolet Camaro engines beat those of the combined engines of the Ford Mustang. The 2 litre engine offered in the Camaro offers 275 horses and the Mustangs 2.3 litre offers 310. With the latter though you have to take into account that you only get this if you give the vehicle premium fuel.
For the suspension and brakes it is the Ford Mustang that comes out ahead. This is due to the fact that we don’t know about the suspension of the Chevrolet Camaro just yet. The Mustang however has a 50 year history behind it for its independent suspension.
The cabin in the Chevrolet Camaro looks a lot more crowded than that of the Ford Mustang. The Camaro is more at home in a Transformer movie while the Mustang is at home in a Fast and Furious movie.
The Chevrolet Camaro offers up the advantage for the curb weight. Some years ago it could have been the Ford Mustang that was ahead. The Camaro did lose 200 pounds so it deserves the win.
We think that this time the Chevrolet Camaro is the winner but you might think we should have gone for the Ford Mustang.
