On paper, there is a lot to love about the Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta but the amazing offerings of the vehicles were overshadowed by the faulty Powershift transmission.
The issues have been in the limelight for some time and Ford is now getting sued by the owners of these models. According to the suit, the 2012-2016 Ford Focus and 2011 to 2016 Ford Fiesta both had a dual clutch transmission that is riddled with issues.
Issues that were highlighted by the owners includes shuddering, slipping, bucking, jerking, hesitation, delay in downshifting, sudden acceleration, delayed acceleration and more.
While Ford issued a fair amount of technical service to get the issue fix, they could not find a fix that is reliable. They also tried to extend the warranty for the powertrain but even that was not enough.
Ford has stepped out to say that they are committed to providing their customers the best vehicles but did not comment on the pending litigation.
