Ford will be issuing a recall to bring back their Ford F-150 and Ford Super Duty trucks after it was reported that the door latches might open mid-drive endangering the lives of the passengers.
The recall would affect about 1.3 million vehicles in North America. Models that will be affected by the recall include the 2015-2017 Ford F-150 that was built from 12th of March to 31st of December 2016 in Dearborn and 11th of August 2014 until the 30th of December in Kansas City. 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks that will be recalled are those made from the 8th of October 2015 until the 1st of September 2016.
According to the report, the cause of the issue is the frozen door latch or a bent actuation cable that resulted in the door not opening or failing to close completely.
So far, no accidents or injuries caused by the issue has been reported. Those affected will get an extra water shield to the side door latches.
