All automakers will hope that there comes a day when the demand for their vehicles get too much that they are forced to open the production plant through the weekend and that is what Ford is going to do to make sure they keep up with the demand of their Ford Escape.
According to Ford, their assembly plant in Louisville, Ky will be open for one of the two-week shutdown. Ford also added that their Ford Escape sales at up by 3% last month while the Lincoln MKC, which is also being assembled at the same plant had increased to 10%
Keeping the plant open will allow Ford to produce an extra 8500 vehicles. Except for the Louisville plant, the rest will remain close as scheduled. The Ford Escape will be coming in with a 168hp four cylinder engine although there is also a 179hp and 245hp option for those looking for something extra. The vehicle will also return about 20mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway.
