Reports have suggested that Samsung has increased the production of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 by 40% when compared to the order they placed to their suppliers for the Samsung Galaxy S7.
Samsung started out with 12 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S7 but the Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to reach 17 million devices for the initial supply. This tells us that Samsung is hoping that the demand for the S8 is going to overwhelm that of the S7.
Forecasters have said that the overall sales goal of Samsung for the Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to be around 60 million. This of course is higher than the 48 million for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the 45 million for the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The Samsung OLED display business is getting ready to send 10 million panels for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and 6 million for the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Along with this we know that Samsung is going to be acquiring more displays to ensure that they have enough for their own devices before the iPhone 8 with the OLED display is launched.
