GM said that they were putting all their focus into green technology and since then we have managed to catch a glimpse of a mid-engine vehicle under development that wears the badge of the Corvette.
If the rumors are true then it is possible that GM may be working on a supercar that might challenge vehicles such as the Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 and the Ford GT. But what we want to know is why would they choose the Corvette?
Some people have said that Cadillac would have made a better badge for the new vehicle and some people have asked GM to come up with a new sub-brand that is only for exotic vehicles that offer plenty of power. If the vehicle is a Corvette then it would ruin the reputation of the brand name as being an all-out super car.
Now one fan has said that GM may have chosen the Corvette thanks to the Chevrolet Camaro. The latest version of the Camaro has gone into the territory of the Corvette when it comes to power figures, therefore the latter needs an upgrade that is unique and which cannot be followed by GMs other brands.
Of course the mid-engine Corvette could be just purely speculation from fans, but then it would give us a reasonable explanation for the choice of the nameplate.
