Confirmed: Hyundai Ioniq Crushes Prius In Mileage
Getting more fuel for your money is one of the first things that consumers look for when purchasing a new vehicle. If you have set your sights on the Hyundai Ioniq you will be pleased to hear that it is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles on the road and it crushes the Toyota Prius for mileage.
The Toyota Prius Eco used to be on top for offering mileage, but now it falls in second behind the Hyundai Ioniq. The vice president of corporate and product planning for Hyundai confirmed that the Ioniq is now ahead, when he said that the company wanted some way to stand out above the competition.
The Hyundai Ioniq has now been given certification by the EPA to offer up 59mpg when on the highway and 57mpg when travelling around the city. The combined rating is 58mpg, while the Eco comes in at 58mpg in the city, 53mpg on the highway and 65mpg overall.
The Ioniq hybrid is going to have a team mate by way of the all-electric version and this is going to offer up a range of 124 miles. A plug-in hybrid is also making its way out in 2017 and both vehicles will have the Kappa 1.6 litre direct injected four cylinder engine. This is going to offer 104 horses and 109 of torque.
So do you fancy the Hyundai Ioniq with its long fuel range?
