Chevrolet Volt Takes Selling Lessons From 2017 Hyundai Elantra

Spec on spec the 2017 Hyundai Elantra goes up against the Honda Civic for taking the title of being the most popular sedan to come out this year. The reason for this hasn’t been the figures on paper or the neat tricks that it offers.

What has made it stand out is the fact that Hyundai teamed up with Amazon Prime for the promotion of the Hyundai Elantra in just the same way that the Chevrolet Volt was sold.

Promotion doesn’t sit right with the Chevrolet Volt of course as the vehicle hasn’t been able to benefit from any money from the advertising or marketing of GM. Still they did find a great way to bring people’s attention to the vehicle.

An expert drove the vehicle over to the prospective buyer’s home and gave them a test drive. They also answered any questions that the prospective buyer may have had.

By using this method they managed to sell 12,000 units of the PHEV so far this year and it is looking as though Hyundai is going to sell their compact sedan the same way. They have teamed up with Amazon Prime in a promotion called Prime Now Drive Now so that people can order a test drive of the vehicle.

This means that the Hyundai Elantra is taken to the doorstep of the customer and taken on a test drive. Right now you have to reside in Orange County or Los Angeles to take advantage of the test drive, but it would be superb if Hyundai started to include more regions in the future. The test drive is also only available on weekends and between 9am and 7pm.
