Chevrolet Bolt Takes On 2017 Tesla Model S But Leaves Volt In Cold

By  |

The 2017 Tesla Model S was put up for Motor Trend Car of the Year but this isn’t the first time that it has been in this position as it won in 2013. The version put up for the award this year was the 60/75kWh version.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV was also put up on the list for the Motor Trend Car of the Year and this was the first time for the Bolt. The Chevrolet Bolt on the other hand was left completely out in the cold as it didn’t make it to the finalists.

The Tesla Model S 60 does have plenty to offer and one of the best things about it is the fact that it can be upgraded from 60kWh to 75kWh by way of an OTA update. The 60kWh version does cost less than the 75kWh but if you want to update later it is going to cost $9,000.

It was great to see the Tesla Model S along with the Chevrolet Bolt EV as finalists in the Car of the Year awards but we were surprised to find out that the Chevrolet Volt wasn’t a finalist. This was due to the fact that it had been the second best seller electric vehicle in the US.

But what do you think about the fact that the Chevrolet Volt EV didn’t manage to get into the finalists for the Car of the Year award?
