If you have been following the news about the Chevrolet Bolt EV then you will by now know that the vehicle offers up a driving range of 238 miles. The figures have now been certified by the EPA and now Chevy can brag about them.

It seems that the Chevrolet Bolt EV and its 238 mile driving range is a combined figure of highway and city range. The EPA said that the city range for the Bolt EV is more than the combined figure.

The Chevrolet Bolt is able to drive 255.2 miles when the battery is fully charged and in the city it is on par with the Tesla Model S 75D.

When out on the highway the range is said to be 217.4 miles and this isn’t bad when you take into account that EVs use more energy when in high speed free flowing traffic.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV comes with the 60kWh battery and this means that it takes just 9.3 hours for the vehicle to fully charged from zero. However you do need a Level 2 charging unit and 240 volts are required.
