The latest news circling the gaming industry suggests that the Call of Duty: Black Ops could actually support backward compatibility in due time, if it’s true according to the findings of an Xbox user in Spain.
It’s highly likely that the action-packed shooter game could join the growing list of backward compatible titles on Xbox One. The user who managed to download the Annihilation: Pack 3 DLC from the Spanish Xbox One store has already gained overnight fame, for it has opened up the possibilities for other users to await the game that could actually be on Xbox One soon.
And apart from Call of Duty: Black Ops, Digital Foundry has also been looking into technical aspects of games like Fallout 3, Halo: Reach and Gears of Wars, so that just means that they’ll soon have the feature as well. Also worthy to note is that Microsoft has recently announced that they wouldn’t announce batches of games with backward compatibility anymore, instead, choosing to release them whenever they are ready.
Needless to say, we’ll just have to wait patiently for the game to arrive on Xbox 360, since this is only our best indication yet. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
