It is official. Audi has confirmed on the development of their second pure EV and it is tentatively known as the e-Tron Sportsback. Much like the e-Tron Quattro, the vehicle will rely on the best EV technologies around and the only thing separating it from the EV sedan is the body style.
Audi said “We are expanding our model portfolio with a new e-Tron-model. Production of the Audi e-tron Sportback will start at Audi Brussels (Belgium) in 2019. That Audi plant will therefore be responsible for producing a second fully electric model. The Audi e-tron electric SUV will drive off the assembly line there as of 2018.”
This means that the e-Tron Sportback will be coming out in 2019 and it will have a lot of range to offer. While Audi has yet to unveil the e-Tron Sportback, we can already get a glimpse on how it looks like through the controversial billboard that surfaced online in recent weeks.
In case you have missed out on the billboard, it saw a sketch of an EV Sportsback with the caption “Musk-Have”. The ad utilize Elon Musk name to show that the future EV is likely to be the number one choice in the market.
