Good news for Samsung Galaxy S2 customers on AT&T – the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update specifically for your device has finally been rolled out by Samsung.
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update now available for download via Kies
This comes after a disappointment recently whereby it appeared to be obtainable using Samsung Kies software for updates, but this was removed as it was apparently a test. Several XDA users already have updated their smartphones and it seems as though you are unable to update wirelessly but only if plugged in to your desktop PC. Also it seems as though no changes have been made to the test which was recently accidentally released and then withdrawn, as previously mentioned.
Now the good thing about it being a Kies software download is that you can get it now. Otherwise, over-the-air updates usually require you to wait (staggered release).
The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 update will have some interesting new features. This includes applications which have been redesigned, improvements on UI, bug fixes, and continuous use of TouchWiz. However there won’t be any of the new more exciting features you see on the new Samsung Galaxy S3 or the cool blue UI found in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
