AT&T happens to be the 2nd largest carrier in the US and today they will tell us their plans about their first handset to run Windows Phone 8 in the US, the Nokia Lumia 920, reports Bloomberg and their sources.
AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 launches today (Bloomberg)
The Nokia Lumia 920 was shown off last month as just one of the two handsets that would have the Windows OS, however there was no date for release or mention of which carriers would have the device. AT&T will be showing off new devices today claims the source, however this doesn’t mean that they will be on the shelves straight away. A release date is still unknown.
The Lumia handsets are very important to Nokia as they hope to make their comeback into the smartphone world with the devices. They have been struggling to keep up in the market thanks to iOS and Android. The Nokia Lumia 920 should help them to get back market shares as it comes with a 4.5 inch display, a powerful 8.7-megapixel camera, gorgeous styling and Windows Phone 8.
Nokia who are based in Finland wants the US as a key market in their turnaround bid and AT&T are a close partner of Nokia. They started selling the Nokia Lumia 900 early this year.
