Apple Sits On The Throne As Galaxy Note 7 Pulls Samsung Down
Fortune has revealed their annual list of some of the most admired companies in the world and Apple has once again come out as the king. Samsung meanwhile has been pulled down by the Galaxy Note 7 as they have now dropped out of the top 50.
To get the list Fortune begins with a thousand of the biggest companies in the US, plus some of the biggest non-US companies in their Global 500 database. They then cut this down to 680 companies, which are based on the companies having the highest revenues within their industry. 3,800 directors, executives and analysts are then asked to choose just 10 companies most admired by them and give them a rank of 1 to 9 based around certain criteria.
The criteria that goes towards choosing the companies includes innovation, people management, how corporate assets are used, quality of management, social responsibility, quality of products, long term investment value, global competiveness and financial soundness.
Apple is no stranger to winning awards as they have won the most valuable brand in the past and Tim Cook has been among the Time 100 most influential people. But it is looking as though Samsung have been damaged by the failure of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
